R.L. Daily Log

May 24th, 2016
I can't believe this is our last day working on our ROV! We finished it on Friday and today I worked on our Fish ID sheet, as well as figuring out where we want the underwater camera on our ROV. I'm so excited to go to the pool next class, and test out our ROV.

today, we worked on adjusting our ROV to fit into the challenges. We've experimented with a hanger, which actually worked, so that was pretty amazing. Next, we are working on the Schworoctopus challenge. Hopefully, next class we will be finished adjusting the ROV.

Today we finally tested our ROV in the water! It was so cool actually operating it, I was really nervous that it was not going to work. Our next step is gathering materials from the Emporium and testing it on our ROV. I'm very excited to see what we come up with!

Today, Tania and I finished netting and assembling the frame, and it looks super cool! I also learned how to strip a wire, and helped James out with his motors. Next class, I hope that we can test our ROVs in the water.

Today we made a lot of progress. I drilled through all of our PVC and elbows, and Tania and I finally put our frame together. We didn't change the design, which I am very happy with. Rachel & James are figuring out their tasks with the motor and control box. I'm very excited to start our motors next class!

Today we finally received our box, woohoo! Tania and I measured our PVC pipes, and watched videos on building the frame. We learned about drilling and handling the PVC pipes, and we learned about our frame design and guidelines. Next class, I hope that we can start drilling and building our frame. We are one step closer to our ROV!

Today was my first day working with my group because I was absent last class. I was very excited to dig in and start my research on ROVs. My task was to research ROV parts, as well as an example of an ROV. Overall, I learned how complicated ROVs can get, depending on their mission! Next class, hopefully we can start to build our ROV and plan what we want to do with our ROV.

May 4th, 2016 - Absent
Today, I missed group assignments and learning about our ROV. Rachel and Tania set up their about me pages, and started their daily logs. Since I missed our daily logs and about us page, I decided to finish that today. I also made sure to help with our "What is our ROV" page and created my about me. I will make up my missed time with Mrs. S next flex time.
Update: I went to flex time on 5/10, to build Schworoctopuses and help with ROV testing.
